This large room needed focus, so we painted the end wall a deep teal to set off the custom mirrored console below. A custom mother of pearl mirror with a double frame was added; it reflects the large living/family room beyond. The stairs were covered in a chocolate wool carpet that wears well with heavy traffic.
Living Room I
This living room was designed to double as a home theatre. The custom cabinetry holds a 50" tv, and all of the components are stored away in a dining room cabinet around the corner. The sectional seats six; the two ottomans are handing for larger gatherings.
Living Room II
We changed the gas log fireplace by replacing the logs with glass crystals. The fireplace is open on three sides to provide warmth for both the living area, sitting area and dining room.
Living Room Detail
The white sectional in this combination living room and family room allows for creativity with pillows and throws. This owner changes the pillows seasonally for interest.
We added a pair of French doors to this dining room to provide a way of closing off the kitchen. An Asian cabinet stores glassware; while tall cabinetry out of view on the right holds china and serving pieces.
Window Treatment Detail
Attention to the detail on this window treatment provides ongoing interest in this kitchen.
A front-loading washer and dryer replaced older appliances. We built a box around these appliances and added a marble top for extra counter space. A cabinet above the washer faces a large tall cabinet for cleaning supplies. New window treatments coordinate with the kitchen windows.
For the floor we added heavy duty carpet tiles; they are non-slip, easy to clean and add a welcome spot of color to this laundry room.
The low ceiling in this room was vaulted to match the great room ceiling downstairs. A comfy padded headboard is comfortable for reading in bed. The custom bedding was an unfussy combination of comforter, pillow shams and a classy bolster pillow that go together in 60 seconds.
Master Bedroom Chair
A feminine side chair in coordinating fabrics, accented with a "bling" pillow, is a nice addition to her master closet. Full-length mirrors on the door help to visually expand the space.
